Eclipse Foundation Board Election Results

Today we are pleased to announce the results of the Eclipse Foundation Sustaining Member and Committer Member elections for representatives to our Board of Directors.

Congratulations to Farah Papaioannou and Gunnar Wagenknecht who were voted into the Board as Sustaining representatives, and to Torkild Ulvoy Resheim who is returning in that position.

Chris Aniszczyk, Dani Megert, and Ed Merks will be returning as Committer representatives. We're looking forward to working with you on the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors, effective April 1.

We would like to thank Mark Brewer and Martijn Verburg for running for election. The Eclipse Foundation would also like to recognize the contributions of Tracy Miranda who will be leaving the Eclipse Board. The Eclipse community owes Tracy a great deal for her many hours of effort on the Eclipse Board.

Committer and Contributor Agreement Updates

As a reminder, the Foundation updated its Committer and Contribution Agreements last fall, and is in the process of updating these agreements with all members, committers, and contributors.  For a reminder of the motivation, please revisit Mike’s blog.

We have been reaching out in earnest to our members, committers, and contributors since the beginning of February and the update process is well underway. We are requesting that everyone we have communicated with to please respond and we would like to thank those who have updated their agreements already.

Should anyone have any questions or concerns, please to not hesitate to contact license@eclipse.org.

The Jakarta EE Developer Survey is now open!

The Jakarta EE Working Group is launching the Jakarta EE Developer Survey for 2019. This is an annual survey that delivers valuable insight into enterprise and cloud-native programming languages, platforms, and infrastructure. As always, the results will be shared with everyone. You can find the insights and key findings from the survey we did in 2018.

So please, if you are a Java EE developer we want to hear from you! Responses will be collected until March 25th, 2019.

Eclipse IoT Reaches New Milestones in Open Source IoT Leadership

On February 26 2019, Eclipse IoT was announced as the largest open source IoT community! What started as 3 projects in 2011 has grown to 37 projects, 41 member companies, and 350 contributors who are building IoT solutions based on Eclipse IoT code.

Eclipse IoT is bringing industry leaders together like Bosch Software Innovations, RedHat, Cloudera and Eurotech to standardize open architecture. We are proud to be the IoT platform and open source community of choice for commercial-grade IoT innovation! Learn more about our major milestones here.

The IoT Developer Survey closes soon!
