2023 Board Elections are now underway - be sure to vote!

Voting for the 2023 Committer Member representatives and Contributing Member representatives is still open, and will close on March 3, 2023 at 9:00 PM CET / 3:00 PM EST.

Please see the list of 2023 Board Candidates and their individual candidate pages. Eligible voters, including both Committer Members and the Member representatives of our Contributing Members, received their ballots.

If you did not receive a ballot and you believe you should have, please contact elections@eclipse.org.

The new representatives will be announced via community bulletin on March 6th!

Annual General Assembly meeting scheduled for April 4, 2023

The annual general assembly of Eclipse Foundation AISBL will be held on April 4, 2023 beginning at 17:00 CEST / 11:00 a.m. EDT via Zoom. Members can also join at the Association’s Operating Office located at 2934 Baseline Road, Suite 202, Ottawa, ON, Canada.

The official Convening Notice including the meeting agenda will be sent to all member representatives by email later this month.

All members are encouraged to join.

Special Member Webinar: Cyber Resilience Act

Join us for an insightful webinar on March 1, 2023 at 2:30pm CET/8:30 AM EST where we will discuss the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and its impact on the open source community. During this session, we will raise awareness about the importance of open source for businesses and the challenges posed by the CRA. Our expert speakers will provide insights into the legislation’s negative impact to open source, and will make recommendations regarding improvements. We invite all member organizations to attend, and in particular we encourage you to invite those in your organizations responsible for government relations.

SDV Community Day

March 29-30, Lisbon

We are establishing the SDV Community Days which will provide the opportunity to meet, discuss, and present new contributions to the SDV open source projects, and to discuss the initiatives being driven by the SDV working group. This hybrid event will take place on March 29-30 in Lisbon.

The event is open to any developer, product manager, architect, or business manager interested in topics related to the software-defined vehicle.

EMO Office Hours: Ask us anything!

The EMO hosts a monthly office hours call to discuss the Eclipse Foundation Development Process, changes to the Eclipse IP Policy and Due Diligence Process, and other related topics. All Eclipse open source project committers are invited to join. The format is flexible: we generally start with a very short presentation followed by a question and answer session.

Committers can bring their questions and the Eclipse Management Organization team will try to provide answers.

OSPO Alliance Good Governance Handbook

The OSPO Alliance has been developing a comprehensive set of guidelines and best practices for organisations to follow when engaging with open source software. The Good Governance Handbook provides practical, actionable advice on how to set up and run an effective Open Source Program Office (OSPO). The recording of our lightning talk at FOSDEM provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about this initiative, as it gives an overview of the method and content of the Good Governance Handbook, together with how you can participate and contribute to the OSPO Alliance. The OSPO Alliance and the Good Governance Handbook offer invaluable insights into the importance of open source and how to integrate it effectively and properly into your organization's processes.

The Eclipse Foundation participates

in FOSDEM and State of Open Con

The Eclipse Foundation is proud to be an active participant in the open source community and is committed to promoting the adoption and use of open source software. In furtherance of this goal, the Eclipse Foundation community participated in two major events in 2023 so far: State of Open Con and FOSDEM. These events provide an excellent opportunity to engage with the open source community, and foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The Eclipse Foundation's presence at these events will help raise awareness of its initiatives, projects, and goals and reinforce its commitment to advancing open source.

The Eclipse Sparkplug Working Group drives the evolution and broad adoption of the Eclipse Sparkplug protocol and related technologies that enable the creation of open, collaborative, and interoperable Industrial IoT solutions, and a framework for supporting Industry 4.0. Learn more
