Hello Everyone,

Would like to confirm any data entered or created in the Eclipe Java application is not collected by Eclipse or a third party. From a privacy and security perspective, does the Eclipse Java application collect any of the following data:

Analytical data of application usage?
Data entered into the application?

Thank You,

Dom

Eclipse projects do not, as a general rule, collect data and share it.

I can confirm that the Eclipse Java application does not collect any analytical data of application usage or data entered into the application by default. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

If you are using any third-party plugins or extensions with the Eclipse Java application, it is possible that they may be collecting data. You should review the privacy policies of any third-party plugins or extensions that you are using to confirm their data collection practices.
If you are using a cloud-based version of the Eclipse Java application, such as Eclipse Che, it is possible that the cloud provider may be collecting data about your usage of the application. You should review the privacy policy of your cloud provider to confirm their data collection practices.
If you are using the Eclipse Java application to develop and deploy Java applications, it is possible that your applications may be collecting data from users. You should review the privacy policies of your applications to confirm their data collection practices.
Overall, the Eclipse Java application is designed to be privacy-friendly. However, it is important to be aware of the potential for data collection by third-party plugins or extensions, cloud providers, and your own applications.
